Teen Screening for Depression Now Available Posted: Friday, April 24, 2009

The US Prevention Task Force recently announced new guidelines for screening teens for Depression. The Task Force now recommends that Pediatricians should "routinely" screen all teens for Depression. Fifty percent of all people who develop mental illness have their symptoms start by age 15, 75% by age 24. Most people experience 10-12 years of treatment delay before ever getting help.
