WHAT WE DO
|
|
SERVE the community by collaborating with other agencies and professions to promote mental health;
WORK for the understanding of mental illness through education;
ADVOCATE for the strengthening of all mental health services;
|
| |
Knowledge is empowering. The Mental Health Association educates the public,
mental health consumers, family members, and health professionals about specific
mental disorders; signs & symptoms of mental illness; scientific advances in
research and treatment; and the stigma of mental illness.
As advocates for people with mental illness, the Mental Health Association fights
for individuals needing to access mental health care, as well as strategic
improvements for mental health services locally and statewide. Sadly, our most
vulnerable citizens need an ardent voice on their side.
