Nashville has seen a 75% reduction of jail days with participants in its jail diversion treatment program called FACT. Designed to keep the mentally ill out of jail, FACT stands for forensic assertive community treatment.

The Davidson County Mental Health Court also is quite effective and most clients demonstrate treatment compliance through frequent court “status checks.” Diversion treatment is the right thing to do, and it is right for Knox County.
